Maximum Family

Dear Reader,

            The book “Maximum ride” is about 6 kids who were taken at birth and experimented on. They come together when Jeb rescued them from the “School” which is the place where they were experimented on and put in cages. Jeb then mysteriously disappeared and the oldest kid Max became in charge. She because the mother of the family who takes care of all the others while keeping them safe from the white coats, and the erasers. The white coats are the people who experimented on them and they are trying to capture them so they can do more tests. The erasers are half humans but also half wolf. They were also created in the “School” but are trained to kill and capture the kids. Max, Izzy, Gasman (Gazzy), Nudge, Fang, and Angle can all fly, while Angle and Nudge also have more powers like reading minds and breathing under water. One day Angle gets taken away from the family by the white coats, and the journey begins. The family makes there way to the “School” to save Angle. They run into a few problems but get through them all and save her. Angle tells the group that she heard them talking about an institute in New York where all of their information is. The group runs into the erasers many times while on there way to the institute, but eventually get there. A voice in Max’s tells her where to go but also to keep an eye out for Fang because he may not be who the group thinks he is. Max listens to the voice and it leads her and the rest of the group into a sewer in New York, then into a door, down the steps, and into a room that looks just like the “School.” Max hopes on a computer and starts to search but the computer has a password. The group guess’s everything but without any luck. Then Nudge touches the computer and closes her eyes, then starts saying different letters and numbers. Max types them into the computer and the computer comes to life. That’s when Nudge learns her new talent. While Max is on the computer trying to find out information about where they came from, and who there parents are. The rest of the group keeps an eye out for any Erasers or White coats. After she is done she prints the papers, and the group finds more kids that were experimented on. Fang and the group let them out of their cages and start to lead them back up the stares into the sewer. Max then hears a voice behind her and it is Ari an eraser, and Jeb’s son. Ari and Max then get into a huge fight and in the end Max wins by snapping his neck. The family goes to the park to read the information that she found, and everyone finds out who there parents are, where they are now, and where they were born, except for Max.

            The theme I found that went best with the book is family. This theme is portrayed through out the story very well and that is the reason that I picked it. The group of kids in the book are not really related except for two. But they come together and become a family, keeping each other safe, and being there for one another. They are also in it together probably more then a real family might be. Because they have real danger in there life’s, and they are trying to keep each other alive and happy.

FANG- Second in charge, he might not be as good as he seems.

ANGLE- Youngest of the family, Max's favorite. She can swim under water and read peoples minds!

MAX- The oldest, and in charge of everyone. Makes the decisions, and hears voices in her head!

NUDGE- She helped break into the computer by putting her hand on it and seeing the girl who works there, and finding the password in her head.

GASMAN- Stays in the back ground of the book, doesnt have any other powers then flying.

News Paper Article

JUST IN

Mysterious flying children found flying over New York city. They were noticed by two young middle schoolers while they were out shopping. "They just looked like birds" said Jennifer, one of the witnesses. "I thought they were till they flew closer and I saw the outline of their body" said the second witness. "We were terrified at first, then thought it was sweet, then ran to tell our moms" said Stephanie. "We couldn't believe there were really flying people! It was sweet" said Jennifer. So this just in, bird like humans flying around in New York City! Keep an eye out!

Obituary

Ari, my best son, my only son. We will miss him forever. He will always be in our hearts and we erasers will get Max for killing him. He was a great fighter, a great friend, and a great person in general! Keep him in your hearts forever! Max get ready we are coming for you. Love you January 12, 1992 to May 4, 2010 <3

The first genre I picked was 10 ways to know if... I chose this because they are all angles and are all different, in different ways. But they come together as one and become a family. The second I did was photographs with captions. I did this because I wanted to show most of the family and how their personalities helped the family in different ways. Also to show that they are all different but act as a family. The third I picked was a Newspaper Article. I did this because in the book  they were spotted in a restaurant and I just turned it into a Newspaper article. This has to do with the theme because they got out of the way of people as a family without any one getting hurt or left behind. The forth and final genre I picked was an obituary. I did this because in the book Ari gets killed by Max with the help of the rest of the group. I had difficulties trying to get things to work in Blogger. The pictures were had to get in and some of the genres I wanted to do, I could not because blogger would not let me. I feel like the project was a good idea. It was very confusing at the beginning but once I new what I was doing it was a lot easier. I learned how to do many things, how to write a news paper article and an obituary.
